Choo Ting is a veteran dance educator who has taught in Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Malta and New Zealand in the past decade. After finishing her professional dance training at Lasalle College of the Arts (Singapore),  and later on a short stint of performing career with Odyssey Dance Theatre (Singapore), she gained her teaching qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dance (United Kingdom) and Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance (Australia), and has enrolled students for the examinations of both organizations. Her pupils have achieved 100% Merit with high percentage of Distinction. Past outstanding students have been selected in the Scholar Program offered by Singapore Dance Theatre.

In 2018, Choo Ting completed the degree of Masters of Dance Studies at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Under the guidance Ali East and Professor Yoram Barak, her research focused on dance for older adults with dementia, and has been published in American Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias.

From 2019, Choo Ting has been appointed by the RAD to be a tutor and Practical Teaching Supervisor for the CBTS, DDTS and PDPTC teaching programs.  She is also certified to teach Progressive Ballet Technique and Pilates.

Wong Xin Ru (trainee teacher)

A high scorer in ballet exam, Ms Wong was trained with Ms Choo Ting from 6. Under the tutelage of Ms Choo, she was selected and awarded scholarship to attend the Pre-professional scholar program of Singapore Dance Theatre, by their artistic director Janek Schergen.

Ms Wong currently studies psychology at the University of Reading. She is assisting some of the pre-grades and lower grades classes at BalletArt, while studying the RAD syllabi and teaching method under the guidance of Ms Choo. She is also taking Advanced training at BalletArt.
